Service Description

A keloid scar is a raised scar left on the skin following wound healing. A keloid scar usually grows for months or years and becomes bigger than the original wound. They can vary in size and colour. Some present as shiny and are usually raised and hard. A Keloid growth doesn’t go away without treatment. There are a range of removal methods, and can include steroid injections, excision or often a combination of therapies. Treatments are effective, but it may take several sessions. You cannot completely remove keloid scarring, but treatment can help greatly improve and reduce the appearance. The precise method of removal will be discussed following a physical examination in clinic. * All treatment times quoted are approximate
